Okay,

It was a bit of an effort, but I have the MC462 finally installed in my system.

I was using a swiftech 370 with delta fan for peak temps of 47 degrees, based on a 1.33G Athlon running @1.56G (11x142) at 1.85V.

Now I run at 42 degrees max, and am able to up the FSB to 145, giving me 1595Mhz.

All in all my mobo now runs 2 degrees over ambient, and the cpu maxed at 16 degrees over that. Not bad temps with 4 HDDs, CDRW, DVD, 1.6 Gig Athlon and Geforce Ultra64. Of course it is a little noisy....

Good deal, looks like some good numbers. What motherboard did you puit it on?I see on Swiftecs site they have a revision .01 in order to fit on the DDR motherboards without having to modify them.

Rock out with your AMD out

Well congratulations. That figure certainly beats my speed rating.

I finally obtained the MC462 a good 2 weeks ago, and after reinstalling the fan, I can get fairly cool temps from the low 40's at 1.33 MHz. Also added a 350 watt PS to help in any overclocking.

When I set the vcore to 1.85, I've gotten up as high as a stable running 1.533 MHz utilizing a FSB of 153 using the default mutiplier. Anything more than that and the system crashes. So as a way of getting around that barrier, I also tried to reduce the multiplier while raising the FSB to a higher number..to no avail.

But I'm still very happy with the overall setup, even though I now consider the performance level of the MC462 mostly as hype compared with say the GlobalWin Fop38, which ran just a couple of degrees hotter, and of course a bit more louder.

Hmm - I cannot post an FSB stably now over 145, but I think my Raid Card is to blame. Get BSOD pretty regularily over that.

I don't think it is too bad considering a lot of vapochills only get another 100Mhz or so for the extra 500-600 bucks!
