This may be an easy problem to fix, but I need some help.
My computer says that I have about half of the black ink
left in my ink cartridge. However, when I print, the
black ink portion of the printout is either very faint,
or made up of black and white lines. I have cleaned the
ink nozzles, however the problem continues. Any
suggestions?

Thanks!!

Hi Mindy -
If the color ink works fine and it's just the black ink
not working properly, here are some suggestions:
1)Remove and re-seat the cartridge (you probably did
that).

2)Remove the cartridge and using a damp tissue, see if
you can 'draw' black ink into the tissue (or dissolve a
clump of hardened ink). It's messy, but often works.

3) Make sure there is nothing obstructing the original
label on top of the cartridge...there's a small hole to
allow air in. Block the hole and ink will stop flowing.

4)As a long shot, perhaps your ink level monitor is
faulty - do you have a new cartridge you can put in?

Hope this helps
