I am at my witts end, I have been on with Hp through chat and phone support, 8 techs in all. No one can help thinking maybe the operating system is the problem. I found and installed the correct updated drivers for the Windows XP, it would not let the computer connect with the printer. I uninstalled and reinstalled to try to fix first. Then, with tech support we needed to uninstall again and we can not.

We have went in and deleted all Hp software/drivers etc.. that the system would let us delete. Still there sre about 4 things that it will not let us manually delete and when we go back to add/delete programs it still will not let the uninstall complete. They feel it is neccessary that ALL drivers from any where be deleted to insure that only the updated drivers are installed.

However, through uninstalling previously I found that there is no digitally signed software/driver in their download or their new CD for windows XP. I personally thought this is the problem, but they say that it is not. They tell that the operating system may be at fault. My version of the Windows XP is the Prfessional version if that makes a difference. I have all of the updates installed on my system and would like to know what to try now. I need to use my printer with this computer!
