Print Spool Service using 100% of CPU. I have deleted
all printers but this service is still using 100% (I
currently turned the service off which obviously keeps me
from printing but at least my computer runs fine). Can
anyone tell me how to fix this problem?? Dell techs
can't and want me to restore... that is very disruptive
and I will only do it as a last resort! Microsoft of
course refers me back to Dell. This is a brand new P4
machine (2 mos) with XP-Pro, 640 MB. Thanks for
reading!!

If you do the System Restore you will not be removing any
of the programs or lose your documents. I would just go
back a day or two to replace the currpt driver that is
causing the problem. You can get to the System Restore by
going to Help and Support then selecting System Restore
listed under Additional Resourses. If it is not listed
there do a searh for it. I have used this many times with
great sucess.
Good Luck.

If it worked perfectly a few days ago, then use System Restore. If it never
worked correctly and has always shown 100%, then CORRECTLY uninstall and
reinstall the printer. Check for updated drivers at the printer
manufacturer's website.
The problem is most often seen when using old and out of date printer
drivers.
