Give a little more detail? What happens when you try to install? Error
Codes? Did you leave the printer disconnected before you installed XP? Do
you have an XP printer driver?

go to hp and d/l the newest software, which has the up to date
drivers.

before you start, create a restore point so you can return to your
current state if you screw up--because somehow XP got screwed up and
would not shutdown, and i had to turn it off.

follow the directions exactly--iow, do NOT connect the USB connection
before you start the software, and told to from the install program.

mine installs and the printer works fine, but i have extra icons in my
sys tray which i don't want...

hth,
ron
