noisy cpu fan?!?

According to PC Alert III the fan runs @ around
5200-5400rpm. The fan is making almost like a high-pitched buzzing noise. When I place the tower on it's side it stops. I tried cleaning & repositioning the fan. The fan has been in use for about 1 month 8 hrs a day. The noise is intermittent. Any tips??? Thanks.

what sort of fan is it? a lot of cheaper fans have sleeve bearings as against ball bearings, either way, it shouldnt start dying after a few weeks, I'd take it back
