PS3 to Monitor Hook up

Trying to hook up a my PS3 to the HP w2207 LCD monitor (http://reviews.cnet.com/4505-3174_7-32391039.html) using an HDMI to DVI cable. I plug it all in, and hold the power button on the PS3 to reset the video settings, when I switch over the monitor to DVI input, the PS3 reset screen comes up on the screen.

My problem then is, if I try and have it auto detect the settings it just boots me out of DVI input and when I switch back it says signal is out of range. Anything I can do to make this set up work?

  1. Is your monitor HDCP capable? If not, you can't use HDMI on the ps3. you will need composite to DVI. Also, make sure the monitor is set to a resolution that it can support..
