Hello:
I cannot install the scanner software for this printer in XP Home edition. It does not shows up in the device manager, imaging device. The printer, copier and fax work fine. When I scan the scan process starts but then will not copy to folder or application. It states that the operation cannot be completed. I have given up on Lexmark support. I am using the lastest driver for XP and have installed and re-installed after eliminating all reference to the printer(including in the registry). I do not have any other imaging device on my computer. The computer is a brand new Athlon 3200 64 bit with all the MicroSoft hotfixes installed. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

Try one more blitz of the drivers using Bruce Sanderson's article as your
guideline:

I have already used Bruce's method and paid particular attention to the instructions for Lexmark printers, but still the scanner does not show-up in Device Manager. Lexmark support has told me that there may be something wrong with the way my USB ports communicate with the printer, but the printer works and so do other USB devices that I have since installed. I have also upgraded the BIOS drivers
