how many 12v fans can you connect to one 4 pin connection from the psu by splicing the wires? These are what I have

Well, figuring a _good_ 120mm fan pulls .65amps, you can put at least 30 of them per each wire before you run into the thermal limit.

I have one 300-watt PSU here that only supports 10 amps on the +12V line. That would allow far fewer than thirty (30)0.65-amp fans, especially considering that floppy drives, CR-ROMs, CD-RWs, and hard disks all need +12v power.
