Some drivers don't allow the Coolbits trick. For those you need a third party utility to overclock. Try Geforce Tweak available at www.guru3d.com.

You can easily enable CoolBits in the 12.41's.

Download two sets of drivers, the 12.41's, and a "leaked" beta set, like the 12.40's. (The 12.60's and the 12.90's will work, also.)

Extract the files into two separate folders.

Copy these two files from the leaked beta driver folder to the 12.41 folder: nvcpl.dll, and nvqtwk.dll.

Allow the files to overwrite.

Now ... reinstall the 12.41's.

If you had CoolBits enabled in the Registry before you installed the 12.41 drivers, it will now be functional again. If not, you will be able to import the hack into the Registry without any more problems.

The two files, (for your information) are the Display Properties Extension, and the Taskbar Utility Library, respectively.

The drivers will still show up as being WHQL, afterwards.

See ya ... Toejam31
