After the XP upgrade, my computer says it doesn't detect
the printer port for my new canon i560 printer. But it
does work if I use the USB cable. Only problem is, I
don't really have a spare USB slot (I either have to
disconnect from the internet to use my USB expansion card
or disconnect my external hard drive. Another post on
this newsgroup says the same thing about another Canon
printer.

My question is: is this a problem linked to Canon
printers or to the XP upgrade. If it's the upgrade, does
anyone have a suggested solution? I already spent a
couple hours on the phone with Canon's tech staff and
they gave up.

(And of course, I know the ultimate solution is to get a
new computer, but I can't spend that kind of cash just
yet!)

It's a poor suggestion but you could overcome your problem with a hub to
increase the number of USB ports. Hubs aren't terribly erxpensive.

Thanks - I think that will probably be the least
aggravating solution!
