On boot up, MSFT pop-up window chooses to autodetect
hardware that is not there. I installed network and local
printers & tried to disable the autodetect hardware
feature within MS. Why does MS always seem to have a
glitch that's neverending like this one?

If you do not want an XP PC to autodetect a printer, then from Windows
Explorer, choose Tools, Folder Options... From the View tab, UNCHECK the box
to Automatically search for Network Folders and Printers.
