I have a Compaq n610c notebook running XP. It has a 40 gig HDD in tow
partitions. I bought a new 60 gig HD and I am trying to copy the old drive
to the new. I am using a desktop to copy the drives. Ghost runs with no
errors, but when I install the new drive in the notebook it will not boot.
Message is disk read error enter ctrl-alt-del.

I have tried various options in ghost with no luck. Is there something
special about cloning Compaq's with Ghost?

I have used ghost on other notebooks with no problems.

Does your notebook store CMOS data on a small non-DOS partition at the front
of the HD or in ROM?

I don't think so. I can take the HD out and still see CMOS info in setup.
