The fax sends ok.
Although configured for automatic fax monitoring, including sounds etc.
The fax monitor does not appear neither the icon on the tray.
I can manually display the Fax Console, and from it display the Fax Monitor.
Only the Fax Monitor remains completely Blank blank, also the details.
Even if in the middle of an active sending session.
There is absolutely no feed Back, to tell me if the operation was
successful.
Of course, on the Fax Console outbox list, the header disappears after
successful termination.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the fax, but no change ensued.
Any Clue at all ???
Thanking you Russ Valentine or somebody.

George

A number of standard update and repair procedures disabled the Fax Monitor
in the initial release of Windows XP. These problems were fixed in Service
Pack 1. Make sure you apply SP1 if you notice this problem. The following

Thanking you Russ,
I have now enough information to keep me busy.
Yes, in the past, after repairing WIN XP, one lost the fax function
completely.
There was a little registry merging script that re-established the fax
miraculously.
That was before SP1 I think.
Would applying that same old registry merge solve the Monitor Problem?
Oh yes, I do run Symantec NIS 2003.
Once again Russ, thank you for such a prompt reply.
George.

So far, I haven't seen that reg patch work if SP1 is already applied.
Check to see if these keys are correct:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Rpc\ClientProtocols]
"ncacn_np"="rpcrt4.dll"
"ncacn_ip_tcp"="rpcrt4.dll"
"ncadg_ip_udp"="rpcrt4.dll"
"ncacn_http"="rpcrt4.dll"

Thank you Russ,
The Problem was solved with the first attempt.
The Symantec NIS.
Configured the Personal Firewall advanced tab.
Clicked Trojan Horse Rules.
Clicked the entry "Default Block Netspy Trojan Horse."
Unchecked the Rule.

Et VoilĂ ,
Fantastic!
Is there a Security Hole Now?

Thanks again Russ.
George
