sorry if its been asked before but wot sort of times are you getting a data unit of seti done in
my average is 31hours
also is it just dependant on cpu speed/memory

i get around 11 hours on my p3 550, but ive always got other things running... 30 hours on my p2 266

you do not strengthen the weak by weakening the strong

i only have seti running as screen saver!!!

4.30 is actual time.

Thing to do - don't use the screensaver - it sucks. The CLI client will run about 10% faster.

My systems all run the CLI, which defaults to low priority and run 24x7. Best not to have any graphical screensaver enabled as they eat lots of cpu whilst systems are supposed to be sleeping...

If I remember right the packets you recieve from SETI are of varying size and are not predictable in terms of completion time.

this is true, but there is infrequent variation. The majority of WUs I get seem to be in the 4.5H mark, a few at 5, a few at 4.
