Ok, our old analog camcorder seems to be at the end of its good and long life. We're looking to spend no more than $2000 on a digital camcorder and a friend of ours has a DCR TRV50 and said it's really nice. Ok, but I know that Sony often likes to overprice their products- anyone know of a better digital camcorder?

Hilbert space is a big place.

Sony stuff is expensive but they never skimp on quality. The TRV50 is good enough but since you're ready to spill about 2000$ then you can get a much better cam than that.
you'd like you to see the Sony DCR-PC120BT about 1800$ and small size.
