I'm trying to decide on a good dollar-ratio 17" for a second monitor. I'm think along the lines of a Viewsonic E70f or Samsung 755DF. It looks that lots of people are cursing 755DF. I'd appreciate some feedback about monitors in this price range.
Though not a frequent user of the 753DF, I don't find anything wrong with it. And the 755DF should be a little higher end than the 753DF. It's not a bad choice, IMO.

According to <A HREF="http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,50183,pg,2,00.asp" target="_new"> www.pcworld.com</A>, the top 17" monitor is the <i>new</i> Viewsonic G75f which costs around $260.
The Samsung SyncMaster 700NF (not the 755DF) came it at number 3 and costs a little more.
But if your planning to pay that much I'd suggest upgrading to the 19" SyncMaster 950p, which is pcworld's #1 19" monitor. Latest price check at pricewatch.com showed the monitor to be $273 with shipping.

Thanks for the input. But I'm also planning to do some other things so cost is somewhat an issue. You're right though - it seems like a waste to shell out more cash for the 17" when you can get a 19". I'm really just looking for a 17" because I have a Viewsonic 19" already. I don't think my retinas can handle 2.
