Can't install printers on LPT1. By mistake a driver was
installed that didn't have a 'digital signature'. After
that, all attempts to install a printer(various different
ones) were unsuccessfull. The printers blink - receiving
data- but don't feed paper. Have reinstalled XP, and
still have the problem. Network printer is OK. Should I
reinstall the LPT1 driver- how?

Do you have "restore points" from any time reasonably before the time the
driver was mistakenly installed? If so restore the system to that date.
Let us know.

Tom,
Unfortunately I am not aware of any such 'restore points'.
Where could I look for them?

Go to all programs, accessories, system tools, then took for system
restore.
Built into XP. Then restore back to before the unsigned driver was
installed
