annoying dropdown box asking fot printer selection

This is a duplicate post;previously posted on the help and support board; I havent figured out how to cross post.

Problem:
I am using XP Pro
I just installed a new printer, OKI 4250
A small drop down box now appears randomly & regularly in the middle of the screen
The dropdown arrow reveals all the printers I have set up to support seeming to want to pick one , by clicking on the OK button on the right.
several ok's and it goes away.
I don't recognize it in the task manager screen or in the list of processes.

Q= what is it and what is it for??
