Having troubles with my DSL. Every few clicks it will hang for about 30 seconds without doing anything. After 30 sec. you can see the lights flashing on the modem and it will go forward and work OK for a few more clicks. Then it will happen all over again. I have AOL DSL with a Nic-card and Westell DSL modem. I've cleared the cach, checked for viruses and spyware. I have Norton firewall. This all started about 8 weeks ago. Don't remember changing anything.
Any ideas??

have you turned the modem off and on? it sounds like there are phone line problems or hardware problems.

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

Yes, I always turn the modem off when I'm done using it. In fact, I even tried another modem (same brand) with no results.
Should I have the phone line checked? What else could I try for hardware conflicts?

Have you contacted your ISP about it? Might be a problem at their end. Also get them to contact whoever controls the phone line. Phone companies tend to move faster when approached by an ISP than by a customer.

Thanks for the input. I called with AOL (again) last night. They are going to have the phone company check the line. They also suggested I try deleting AOL and reinstall. I did this last night and so far so good. Perhaps the program was corrupted. I'm at least hopeful that I will get this resolved between the phone line being checked and the reinstall of the program.
