Hello
We have a LAN running Win98, all traffic is routed
through a standard network "hub" (8-port 10 BASE-T
Ethernet) although I am not sure what the model is.
I am conneting to the network on a laptop running WinXP
Pro, but am having problems printing from a DOS program
(LocoScript) to a network printer. I have no problems
printing from Windows programs to any netwrok printer.
Locoscript prints to LPT2 locally, and we seem to have a
problem redirecting it through the network to the network
printer, which is attached to another PC running Win 98.
I do not believe that it is acting as a print server in
the truest sense of the word.
We set up the printer on the laptop as a standalone
printer (and installed the correct driver) andd told it
to print to LPT2. We then used the "net.exe" command in
DOS, to direct the output to the network printer.
Despite the fact that DOS told us that the command
executed succesfully, wen we print a file it still does
not reach the print queue on the PC. Does anyone have
any suggestions please?
