Hi, before unlocking the multiplier, I wanted to try overclocking by the front side bus. I have a 1.2 athlon on a MSI 6380 K7T266 PRO with 512 MB DDR.
I "conservatively" upped from 133 MHz to 144 MHZ to get 1.3 but even if Windows loads, my USB mouse stops responding after a second fraction. I tried at 141 to get 1.266, but same problem. I didn't tried any other program. Temperature is super (50 degrees).
Is there something wrong with o/c FSB??

<font color=red> I won't sign without my lawyer's presence!

Oops I meant 141. But still, try moving up the FSB in small increments. Also don't forget changing the FSB affects the whole system. If you have a 3 divisor for the PCI then 141/3=47. Your PCI devices may not run that high. If your board has a 4 divisor then that would bring it down to 35.25 which is a lot closer to the normal frequency which is 33MHz I believe.

Did you raise the core voltage at all? To go faster you often need more fuel. Often going from 1.4 to 1.53 or 1.7 will give you great results.

try setting 1.775 or 1.8V and keep an eye on your temps.

If your FSB won't go any higer try remoinv superflous PCI cards (soundcard, modem, etc.) and try again. If this is an issue that the PCI ards are to blame, you can try raising the VIO voltage (jumper to test on some boards) but that may not be possible. You may also need to raise memory voltage or reduce timings if it set CL2 and your memory is not great.
