Swiftech MC-462-A question on install

i just bought new motherboard asus A7M266 and AMD thunderbird 1.4 ghz 266mhz/266k - OEM it has 4 rubber pads on the cpu , im placeing the SWIFTECH MC-462-A heatsink and fan , i also got ARCTIC SILVER 2 compound , my question is how much compound do i putt on , im guessing the rubber pads stay , i dont want to do this wrong, thanks

What's the temperature you're getting? I have the same cpu
and motherboard, and I am using CPC-30370 HS ("the same" as
MC-370) with Delta fan from kdcomputers.com without shim.
After a little reconfiguration of the case fan (see my
recent post on another Swiftech MC-462 thread started by
FlareDust), I am getting 43 C (Idle), 47 C (full load) when
the ambient is, around 24-25 C. I think I might have put
too much Artic Silver II.... but I'd like to see what other people are getting before I make any decision...
