A FEW DAYS AGO I UPGRADED MY PC. T-BIRD 1.333MHZ CPU, ASUS A7M266 M/B AND 256DDR RAM. MY CPU IS ALWAYS OVERHEATED (60C IDLE). I'VE CHANGED SEVERAL CPU FANS BUT I CAN'T GET IT UNDER 50C AND IT'ALWAYS CRASHES AFTER A WHILE. I'M AFRAID IT'S OVERCLOCKED.. IS THERE ANY PROGRAM OR SOME OTHER WAY TO FIND OUT IF IT'S OVERCLOCKED? PLZ HELP

post the numbers and letters on the CPU core and we can tell you if it's a real 1333 or not. Also, what is your case temp? You can have all the cooling in the world for your CPU and it will do no good if you're case temp is too high.

my case temperature is always under 40c. I''ll try to see what is written on the cpu... Which cpu fan do you suggest? i don't have many options because i live in Greece. i can get a Volcano II. what do you say?

Volcano 2 should do fine for a non-overclocked CPU. As for a case temp of 40, that's too high. I would try to keep it at about 30. Under load it might get up to 32 or 33, but 40 is too hot to cool the CPU well. Even the best heatsinks can only keep the CPU at about 12-15C above case temp under load. Make sure to use some thermal paste too. And clean off any pad or tape that comes with the HSF as well as anything on the CPU.
