I have setup Win XP pro (SP1) to send and receive faxes, everything works
perfectly, however, when I shutdown and restart the machine the fax service
will no longer send or receive. I go through the configuration wizard and
all my personal settings (ie company name, fax number, etc) are there, but
the checkboxs for "Enable Send" and "Enable Receive" are no longer checked.
Once I recheck them, anything in the fax queue begins to process.

NB my user has administrator priviliges for the domain.

Any Ideas?

Hi,
This problem looks very weird. Is the issue occured
right after the Fax setup? Basically can you give us more
repro steps on how it happened.

Also can you try the same scenario by restarting fax
service.
1. Make appropriate configuration settings
2. Close all Fax application windows
3. In a Command prompt, enter net stop Fax
4. After the service stops, do Net start Fax
5. Open configuration wizard and check if the
settings are retained.

If the settings are retained, then it should due to some
external issue, that we need to investigate.

I did the net stop fax and net start fax, the settings were retained.
The problem is somehwat intermitant, in that it is not occoruing on every
reboot.
I am wondering if my Nokia DKU-5 (usb cable to sync phone) is interfereing.
It is installed / shown as a modem under device manager.
