I have had the compaq s3000z for over a year and a half now. Lately,
after about 45 minutes of use, my computer will power off for no
aparent reason.
I've tried loading different operating systems, with the same result.
Win2k, WinXP Prof, and Windows Media Edition 2005.
After the machine powers itself off, I have to unplug the power cord,
wait 15-20 minutes, plug it back in before the computer will turn back
on. Nothing shows up in the event log.
I've never seen anything like this and was looking for some help or
ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

With an Athlon processor PC, you always think of heat-related issues as
these processors can run pretty hot. Open the side of the PC and check for
dust clogging the processor fan/heatsink. A small can of compressed air is
helpful in cleaning out any "bunnies" there.
