i mean the built in bluetooth that comes on the playstation 3 does not support stereo audio over bluetooth. if you were to connect a bluetooth headset/headphone all you would hear is voice chatter.

as for your link are those bluetooth?

it just says wireless, it even uses an adapter that doesn't necessarily mean it is bluetooth.

Does bluetooth even need to "support" stereo? Bluetooth is a wireless protocol. It doesn't discriminate what the actual data is, it only transmits that data to another device. If the data is stereo on the ps3, then it should be on the receiving end.

As far as I know, all wireless devices on the PS3 are bluetooth.

Also, in the ps3 settings there are options to only move voice to the remote device or all sounds. The head sets (single earpiece ones) usually only move voice to the headset and leave the rest of the audio on the tv. Closed headset like the one I linked to send all audio over to the headset. This is controlled ny the input device and output device. It's been a while since I've messed with it.

advanced audio distribution protocol(a2dp) is required to have stereo audio transmitted via bluetooth.

ps3 does not have a2dp

its not about what headphones do support wireless audio

its that the playstation 3 does not support stereo bluetooth and i want to know if a usb bluetooth adapter(plugged into the ps3,it works on my pc and my laptop) would

Well in the end i was unable to use my particular dongle to connect my bluetooth head phones to my ps3.

what i did however was hook a 3.5mm cable from my tv screen's head phone port and connect it to my laptop's mic input, from there i had it play back the sound to my bluetooth head phones and there we go.

i get sound with no lag.

i also found out i could buy a bluetooth transmitter(with a 3.5mm audio connecter) plug that into the head phone port but i do not know if there would be lag.

Please see my reply (message #8 Flyinseamnky) on this thread: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-General-Discussion/A2DP-DEAR-SONY/m-p/13926627/highlight/false for more information about the problem. Hope it helps. Sadly it seems there is not a way for Sony to add A2dp to the PS3. Guess we will have to wait and see if it is included on the PS4.
Here's hoping, James

i'm hoping it will be on the ps4 as well, especially since many of today's smartphones have a2dp.

so from reading your post, if i were to acquire a pulse usb adapter from the pulse headphones i should be able to sync my bluetooth stereo headphones to them and thus acquire stereo audio on my sennheisers?

I have been looking at quite a few of these postings regarding this question on the Internet. While I don't profess to have the best solution, I was able to get stream Bluetooth audio to my Sony MDR10RBT headphones. I bought an Avantree Saturn, which is both a Bluetooth receiver/transmitter. I needed to get an additional cord with two RCA female plugs to 3.5 mm plug, but that was it. I changed the audio from the PS3 to RCA output and voila. It sounds pretty good. I didn't have the 3.5 mm output on the TV.

I didn't want a wireless headset for gaming. I wanted to use the Bluetooth headset for multiple applications including listening to game audio on PS3.
