Best monitor for new gaming pc? [First post on Tom's]

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on the Tom's Hardware forums. I just purchased a new gaming pc (specs below), and I am wondering what monitor to get for it. My budget is about $200 and my current top picks are the Asus VH236H and Viewsonic VX2453MH-LED. Both seem like really good monitors, especially for gaming, but I am having difficulty choosing between them. Is one better than the other? What do you guys think?

Thanks for your help!

While a bit old, I recommend the Asus VW246H which came out back in December 2008. The Asus VH236H came out around the same time as well or perhaps in Q1 2009.

You can check out my review of it's sister monitor the VK246H in the following thread. The only difference is the built-in webcam in the VK model.

The VW246H can be purchased for $175 from either Amazon or Newegg.
