HP all in one can't scan/communicate

Hi, I have installed and connected my hp psc 2210 all-in-one (moved it from
computer at work to home computer). It will copy and print, but not scan. I
get communication error messages or it just won't do scan. ALSO,
How do I find out if the computer is usb ready?
How do I find out If it is a full speed usb cable?

u hav to completely uninstall, check if thier is any entry in the add/remove
programs....thn go to c:\program files\delete HP folder & hewlett packard....
also uninstall using scrubber can get frm hp.com....thn reinstall...also
connect the unit directly on the wall instead of surge protector...
