Is it possible to use a 266 fsb thunderbird on a board that can only run the 200 fsb chips like the a7pro? I know I can't run it at the 266 speed but can I run the 266 chips at 200? Will it work like ram? For example you can run pc133 at 100mhz. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Are you sure? If so cool. Why? well- I have a a7pro and ca nget a sweet deal on a great chip, plus all the 266fsb chips are cheaper than their 200fsb chip brethren. Then too if I have a better chip I can always upgrade my board later. Make since??
Any one can back up his statement would be great.

The only difference between 266MHz Athlons and 200MHz Athlons is the default multiplier. 266MHz Athlons have lower multipliers because they are running on a higher clocked bus. By running a 266MHz bus Athlon on a 200MHz board, you will be stuck with 3/4 of the rated speed of the processor. Example: 9*133 = 1200, 9*100 = 900

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

Yes, but if you're going to unlock it then there is literally no difference between the Athlon B and C.

Cool. Works for me- since the 266 ones are cheaper anyway and I found an ayhjay for 90 bucks, it'll do fine I think.
