Windows 7 internet connection not working

checked isp and connection is connected, broadband is connnected. Installed a new printer successfully.
Can access some websites. Seems all the windows applications are prevented from working. I installed the 64 bit version of windows 7. It worked fine for over a week. ONe day I turned on C and it showed a disconnect to network and network shows none available. My norton through qwest isp disappeared so I installed McAfee, that works. Windows security can't be turned on. Help fix this problem, please.
