Screen Freeze

Afew days ago i posted a thread that my pc screen freezes and crashes while playing these games BF3,APB Reloaded ,so i got an answer get a new fan for my CPU that was getting overheated so i bought a recommended fan the fan keeps the cpu cooler than it was before doesnt pass 70C while playing but still i got the Screen freezes and crashes they are less often but its still pretty annoying? i have no idea why
Playing resolution 1240x800 med settings
Specs:
ATI Radeion hd5670 1gb gddr5
Intel E8400 core 2 duo 3ghz
4 GB ram
500W PW

go to start > type in event viewer

under windows logs check system logs for any stop errors or critical errors.
same place also check application logs. lastly under custom views, check administrative events.

you said you've installed the CPU cooler, so that no longer has a cooling problem. What about your GPU?

is this happening with only one game or several games? does it only happen with games or does it happen when you're browsing internet/watching movie?

so have you ran scandisk as it asks?

my guess is either your OS is corrupted or your HDD is slowly failing.

if scan disk doesn't help, I would try formatting the HDD and reinstalling OS from scratch. If the problem persists, get a new HDD

Go to Computer right click on the drive select properties from the menu then the tools tab. The top option is error checking click check now. make sure you tick the box Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

Did it find alot of problems? if it did then the drive could be on its way out.
