Can updates alter system recovery files?

whenever i do system restore on my vaio laptop, i see lots of new updates are there to install but this time i only see 5 updates??????? in windows update section, my question is that after recovery updates are not deleted? or Microsoft have less updates for me

for one, why are you doing so many system restores.?
no, when you restore the updates are deleted too, keep running updates or leave your unit on.
they'll come back..
