Hey,
I have a MSI KT266 Pro 1.4 T-bird and the fan that came with it was a Thermaltake Volcano II. This fan is SO LOUD! Is there any way to make it quit?? It runs my CPU at about 55, is that good for bad?

Can I remove that fan and still put another one on?

What fan is out there that is under 30 and is quite and keeps my CPU at a good temp???

Thanks, new at this building a computer thing thanks!!

Volcano II is by nomeans the loudest of the HSF's. Your in some trouble if you expect to go lower temps and have lower noise.

55oC is a little high; breaking 60oC is fine, but I don't think most anyone here would be satisified with it that high. Leads to lower lifespan of the chip.
