PIII 500 Gateway

Have a GW with 500 PIII on a Tabor (JABIL R3) BIOS 4W4SB Intel board. Tech says I can upgrade to a 850. Question, The current chip appears to be a Katami. Is over clocking better or should I buy the 850 @ $150. Which will give me the best solution?

If you're lucky the 500 will top out about 650 or so.
If your board supports the P3 850 then you can run any 100mhz fsb coppermine except the new Tulatins.
