I have a athlon (100fsb socketa 700mhz), on a abit kt7a. I've had it @950 unstable and 850 stable. Running at 733/133fsb now at stock voltages.

How radical would I have to go on the voltages to hit 1ghz stable? My cpu was not produced with the copper process. Thanks to everyone who replies.

You would have to go up to 1.85v with a GOOD cooler, maybe even a voltagehack on the mobo to reach 1.9v/2.0v.
1000Mhz @1.75 has been seen with just changing the mplier.

Should be fine when attached right with some good paste, arctic silver preferable, and carefully upping the voltage one notch at a time, keeping a good eye on the temps, while increasing the mplier by .5 until you reach a point where you notice instability/high temps and then one notch down.

Good luck.

You might wanna check out some of the many OC sites.
