No error reported.
DOS application will not print. Windows App will print.
The function has worked for more than a week than suddenly
quit.
New computer with Win XP and SP2. SP2 installed for more
than 1 week.
Printer is dot matrix.
Command prompt using either print or type file name>lpt1
returns to c: prompt without printing.
Windows program "Edit" also will not print. Test page from
printer setup or web page will print.
With Printer spooler box open, no job appears
when "printing" from DOS app. but does appear when
printing from Windows app.

Done. Good article but it assumes that OS is working.
Any ideas

have a look at Printfil. It's not free, but it can enable your DOS app.
printing to any Windows printer, with many extras.
