I'm overclocking an amd xp1600, I would like to reach 1.5-1.6ghz preferably, with-out having to unlock the multiplier - so only changing the FSB speed. I've bought to sticks of 256MB DDR ram from Crucial ;)

- I was looking for a cheap/affordable case, which holds enough power for some light overclocking - what do you suggest? - I would like to buy the linkworld 219-C.06 - will it suffice? (http://www.linkworld8.com/products/c06.html)

Also, what type of cooler should I get - I don't want a noisy one... thinking about the ThermalTake Volcano 6CU, 4500 RPM, 30dBa - what is your take on that?

I've heard good things about the volcano 6cu. You can get it from <A HREF="http://www.coolerguys.com" target="_new">http://www.coolerguys.com</A> and they will donate proceeds to the red cross. That case looks good but this is also a nice case <A HREF="http://www.antec-inc.com/product/cases/perfhome.html" target="_new">http://www.antec-inc.com/product/cases/perfhome.html</A>

Case will not matter much; you can always mod it. If you are going for off the shelf, one (if not the best) is the Antec SX-1040 file server case. TONS of room and mounting options.

Coming to the point of the HSF to choose, go with a brand name, for sure. Secondly, if you plan on OC'ing (either serious OC'ing or are just in a warm environment) with air-cooling alone, expect to use nothing less than either the Swifttech MCX-462 or the Alpha PAL-8045.

Good site for mucho amounts of cooling hardware.

 Have you ever tried cooking an egg on your HSF? Tasty.
