Best HSF for OCing

im gonna overclock my Duron 700 to around or less the GHz mark! of course before i do my clocking, i want to buy a decent HSF for the job first! any recommendations? noisy ones aright, cheaper ones better!

Ok, disregard what this other guy said, even though he is correct. The Alpha Pal-8045 and Swiftech models are for bolting directly onto the Mobo, and are used in extreme overclocked machines.

Your Duron is an exceptional overclocker. Get yourself a Thermaltake Volcano 6cu, and invest in very good quality PC-133 ram as I'm assuming you have a Sdram setup. You should be able to hit 1000mhz with your duron, and not have to sacrifice much noise either.

My reccomandation is the Volcano 6cu, and if you want to slap alittle more cash onto it, get the Alpha Pal-6035, note I didn't say the 8045.

well yea switftech has the most expensive fan available in the market.

I just named the best ones out there, not what would be best for his system.

For his system, I would recommend the Swifttech MCX-370. Best of the medium HSF's. Lower price too.
