Synaptics Touchpad driver - Presario 1800XL390

I upgraded a Presario notebook 1800XL390 to Windows XP, but lost some of the
Synaptics touchpad capabilities, including ability to create zones with
special key links. I have installed HP/Compaq's update (2002), and also
tried a generic XP driver from Synaptics, without success.

Does anyone where to get a driver that will work with XP and provide these
functions? Is there some reason it can't be done?
