It's my understanding, both from using Windows XP since my upgrade and
reading posts to this and other news groups, that the following
functionality is lacking from the Print to File operation:

Browse button in the Save File As dialog box (as was present with
Windows 98).

Confirmation of save if filename entered already exists.

Given that these items are lacking (and I've found no "tricks" to
suggest that they can be reactivated) is there any way of getting them
on an official Microsoft "fix list"?

My use of the print to file functionality appears to be different to
that previously discussed. I am constantly trying to move to a more
paper-less office/home and also don't like paying for things
unnecessarily. So, instead of buying Adobe PDF Writer/Distiller, I've
installed an HP LaserJet PostScript printer driver attached to File:
and GhostScript/GhostView (see http://www.ghostscript.com/) to
view/print the results. Works as well as PDFs (at least for my
purposes) and I can save the "printed pages" for later on-line viewing
or even print them to any installed printer from within GhostScript.

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.
