This Slim Tower doesn't seem to have much extra room. Could a 2nd
hard drive fit in just temporarily for backup?

Doubt it. Why not hook up a USB external HD?

I'm thinking about removing the 40GB hard drive and installing a 120GB
or 160GB hard drive. But, does the d330 have the 48-bit compatible
bios for drives over 137GB? And if it does, would my Win XP Pro SP1a
setup disk be able to format the 160GB drive and install, or do I need
to seemslip it some more?

Maybe the USB option is the best, but can the USB drive be the boot
"C" drive?

I do know that you can put a second hard drive in the d330's i am running one right now. it is mounted in my floppy bay, and if you disable the floppy in the BIOS, ht esystem will not squawk about the floppy not being there. there is even an extra molex (HDD power) connector coming out of the power supply, all you need to do is make sure you get a cable that supports both hard drives being in their respective enclosures. the whole "boot from USB" idea, while not bad, does not work with the d330's, i tried with everything that woyld hold the data, including my external IDE cage.

I assume you had to partition and formatt the HD you added to your d330. What was the best way to do so? did you needed a CD ? I hear that this tower has a recovery utility.

Thanks.
