Hello everyone,

I am in the process of upgrading my computer so I can handle strategy games easily. I need opinions on the CPU and GPU I should get if I want to run games like Wargame: European Escalation, Stronghold 3, Tropico 4: Modern times and other such games.

I cant afford too much ($150 max for the GPU, $200 for the cpu, or just $350 total) but I would like to play the games at 1080p (I use a 42" TV). Also I would prefer if i could handle high/ultra on these games, the lowest I want to go is medium.

Also I was considering the following -

Sapphire Radeon HD7770 1GB GHZ Edition OC (will be used in PCI E 3.0 slot)

Intel Core i5 2320 @ 3.0Ghz

Along with 4gb of RAM

That's a neat built for medium setting. If you want games in ultra settings well you'll have to spend a bit higher. Of course for those games you've mention, they're aren't that demanding.

If I went to 8Gb of RAM, would the GPU still be holding me back from high/ultra settings? What card would you suggest to improve this? Must have HDMI, and be 1080p compatible. Also PCI E 3.0 is preferred.

You would be better getting the i3 2100 and a 560Ti or Radeon 7850 this would get you high-ultra. For a gaming PC you need to spend around double or more on the GPU than the CPU.

for tropico and stronghold 3? I think 7770 will be plenty
