buggy directx w/new mobo

Just put in an MSI KT266a Pro2-RU and installed Directx 8.1. Visiontek GeForce2mx/mmx 400 vidcard. Have to set acceleration very slow and can't use Directx3d at all!

Have you got the latest NVidia drivers? Are you using the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers? Did you do a fresh Windows install?

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground .

I did have all the latest drivers. Thanks for replying! I've got it all sorted out now, though. I finally found the buggy driver and rolled it back to an earlier version-problem solved. Took me forever to find it though-sneaky 'lil devil.
