Need to change LPT1 settings for DOS pgm in XP Pro

I understand it's possible to change the registry to manually set IRQ 7 on my
LPT1 port using Windows XP Pro. I have a Shuttle XPC with NO parallel ports
built-in so I purchased a LPT port adapter which fits into the PCI slot ..
however it uses shared IRQ12 which will NOT work with my DOS application.
Any suggestions on how I can change this manually?

Thanks for the suggestion but I can't change ANY of the settings on the
Resources tab since they are all grayed out. Any other ideas?

When you print from a DOS session under Windows XP, you are actually using
an emulated parallel port, not the real (hardware) parallel port on the
computer. Whatever is sent to the emulated parallel port is redirected to
whatever printer is associated with the emulated parallel port.

I suspect that whatever settings the actual parallel port hardware has is
not relevant as long as you can print from Window XP (e.g. Notepad) to the
printer.

By default, Windows XP doesn't use an interrupt for the parallel port. See
the parallel port (LPT1) Properties, Port Settings tab.
