Hey guys,

I know some of you have asked me about the T608 before (and I know
there is general strife about the lack of bluetooth phones for
verizono). Just wanted to announce that I am now selling T608's. I
recently came across a few of these, and have worked out a system to
activate them on verizon. I just tested one today and it worked
flawlessly.

I have put up a copy of my current e-bay auction at
http://www.tomz.org/t608 if you want to learn a little bit more about
this phone.

I have sold my personal phone for over $200 on e-bay, but will offer
any readers of this newgroup a significant discount. From what I've
read here, it sounds like you may lose MOU if you get a v710 at reduced
price from a store. Is this correct?

In any case, like the auction says, I will refund your money (minus
shipping charges), if you cannot get this phone activated with my
instructions.

e-mail me at tomz15 at hotmail dot com if you are interested.

-Tom

PS. Would anyone happen to know where the PRL is stored on a qualcomm
filesystem? I know there are quite a few PRL gurus here. I have one
of these phones with a verizon PRL in it and would like to replicate it
to the other phones. It activates fine without the PRL, but requires
the manual *228xx OTA code. If I were able to manually port the PRL,
it would make things go smoother.

I was not aware any T608s were sold on Verizon's network. Sprint got 10,000 of
them, and only 10,000, before SonyEricsson pulled out of the CDMA market, and I
understand those 10,000 are buggy...

yeah, he said that they're Sprint phones that he hacked to work with
Verizon.

Yeah, they are reprogrammed to work on verizon...

I've used one for the past year without any problems.

I haven't noticed any major bugs, but here are the big gotchas

The menus are a little bit slow, but not much slower than other phones
i've seen. It takes a few minutes to get used to the feel of a sony
ericsson phone.

Outgoing text messages do not work.

Web browser does not work.

Everything else that i've tried seems to work exactly as advertised.

Ok, cool. I've heard a few reports of bugs from the Sprint group. I was
considering buying a T608.

Apologies for not reading closely enough.

Steve,

It seems the current theory is that most of the bugs people report are
caused by filling up the phones memory to near capacity (which is
certainly possible when you can add ringtones and media simply by
transferring them over bluetooth :-)

In any case, resetting the phone and clearing out some working memory
seems to alleviate the problem.
