Trouble Running Amnesia:Dark Descent on PC

Hello,
I am trying to run Amnesia![:D]( ":D")
ark Descent on my Compaq Laptop(only about 290 dollars). Everything seems fine when it runs, but when the game begins, I can only see the mouse Curser(hand) and subtitles but the screen is black otherwise so I can't play? Does anyone know how to help me?
