If we use toothpaste instead of grease......

as you see...
Oneday I got up and brushed my teeth, the toothpaste made me feel cool,so I have the idea.

You guys don`t tell me "you try and post it",NO WAY...
because I only have one cpu...and I am very poor..

the reason it feels cool in your mouth is becasue it has mint like stuff in it.
i dont know how good toothpaste would be as a thermal paste anyways, because it would dry out.
like when the toothpaste is on the outside of the tube, it gets real thick, and if left long enough, will turn into a chalklike material.
for thermal paste, i am pretty sure that it wont dry out.
might work for a little while, but i dont think that it has the same thermal conductivity as thermal paste, plus the drying out problem.
good thought tho...
a thinking man....good thing to be....dont stop...

Unless your toothpaste has small particles of silver in it, I would not try it. Of course, it would keep you CPU and hsf from having tarter buildups. Please don't try it.

SING IT!!!
it would be funny...
here is the new thg video...
"BRUSHING YOUR PROCESSOR, A STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO PREVENT PROCESSOR DECAY"
and instead of repair shops, they would have "COMPUTER DENTISTS"....ha HA!
oh man, it would be funny...
maybe i could open up a "COMPUTER DENTIST" shop and charge people a bunch of money....hehehhehehehehe

I remember reading a review of some motherboards not too long ago where the testers ran out of Artic Silver, so they improvised with toothpaste as well as peanut butter (the smooth kind, not crunchy). I forgot the web-site, but if it worked for them, it might work for you!

See a real naked pic of Britney Spears here!!!

I have another idea.

I bought a conductive pen, to join the golden bridge initially. I think I can mix the ink with some heatsink grease to see any improvement.

yeah, but be careful, you dont want to be messing with conductive ink that close to stuff that should not be conducted....
if it gets forced out from under the heatsink, it could contact something, like a resistor, to another resistor, and FRY THE CPU...
be careful when experimenting with thermal pastes.
but it MIGHT work...i dunno

oh yeah, hot lead...hehe....
another thing taht works real good is if you take a little bit of solder and actually fuse the heatsink to the cpu core and the rest of the cpu****

****(THIS IS NOT REAL ADVICE>>>>>SARCASM>>>>>>>DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!)****

it is sort of like making the heatplate that amd decided to leave off the athlon series...hehe

heh...heh...

Get it smooth. No air bubbles.........WAIT!!!

I think you just discovered how to fix the broken socket tab problem!!!!!

put the heatsink on the solder as it cools?
permanently mount it?
awesome
there would be no loss in heat transfer! hehehe...
damn, that would be SLICK!
hehe
ad heck, it would even close the L1 bridges too!
damn, two birds with one stone!

So I try.....
it works, and cover the heat of ahtlon 1.4GHz.
When I opened the case,I found the toothpaste become brown, like coffee color.

And I smelled mint.

Where toothpaste can be used for these days...
Cooling the CPU and making it smell fresh...and then producing coffee.
I wonder if its good for the CPU?
Maybe in the future you will get AMD aproved toothpaste.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

Yeah, instead of ADA (american dental association) approved...because we know the low cpu concern of the ada...all they care about is teeth!!
oh well...
would calcium transfer heat good?
because i know that when i drink something hot, i can instantly feel my teeth get hot...but i dont know...anyone know?

According to my BINAS (which is a book full of tabels for Chemistry, Physics and Biologic) Calcium conducts warmth a little bit better then iron, but compared to aluminium, copper or silver it's nothing.

does that book list compounds?
not just elements?
like there is that aerogel, which is not an element...as far as i know.
what about glass...
or diamond...
maybe if they made a diamond based thermal paste, because apparently, diamonds are pretty good heat conductors.

It list metals, mixed metals and other much used solid matters.
Glass is very bad in conducting heat, and diamond isn't better then aluminium.
According to the book silver is the best heat conducting metal, and diamond is the best non-metal in conducting heat.

i`ve heard that butter is pretty good to use. check the conductivity of fat!! :D i thought glycol was the best non-metal conducter...
