Thanks Eric for your help.We did this for the umpteenth time and it
still didn’t work. We then discovered we could make use of a brand new
telephone service operated by a Dutch computer club. The solution given
was as follows:
Windows XP comes with a driver for this printer and so is able to
install it as new hardware. However, it was unable to locate the
hpz2ku04.dll file, which turns out to be included in the installation
version downloaded from the hp website. Unpacked with winrar and passed
on the location of this file to Windows. The installation then worked
perfectly! I (being a woman) then gave the printer a kiss!
