Hi, can anyone help me how to set up a fake-printer that produces only the
desired text to a textfile. When I try to set up a printer as textfile I must
always select printer type and the driver sets up initial coding etc so the
file is unreadable in Notepad.

Use the Generic /Text Only printer driver, it will allow you to"print" a
text file without any embedded control characters
